An Ann Arbor institution, offering a diverse and joyful menu, a lively, inviting and inclusive environment, and our signature SavCo Hospitality.

You may remember it, or may have only heard the stories–something about that tiny 23-seat cafe on State Street where the young owner was your waiter, cook, busser, cashier. That scrappy self-starter was Sava Farah–she was a little wild, had a lot of heart and major chops, and her restaurant grew up right along with her. With her unflappable and unstoppable dedication to great food with even greater hospitality, what started as a tiny lunch stop matured into the 300-seat restaurant it is today, a community mainstay and an entrepreneur’s American dream. Where else could an Albanian kid, emigrated to the Bronx at age five, start her own business on grit and saved tips? Sava’s is now the flagship of a larger and growing hospitality organization while still serving the community in all the same ways originally intended—with a diverse and joyful menu, a lively, inviting and inclusive environment, and perhaps above all, the dynamically generous hospitality Sava and her team are best known for.

Aventura was born of the spirit of adventure and a delicious trip to Spain. Literally carved from the bones of one of downtown Ann Arbor’s oldest buildings and utilizing classic Spanish design elements, the dining room and bar are intertwined, reiterating the deeply social experience of traditional restaurants and bars throughout Spain. Serving world-renowned paella, killer cocktails and wine, modern Spanish tapas, and our signature SavCo Hospitality, Aventura strives to stimulate, surprise, and delight. Let us transport you to a truly authentic and memorable Spanish dining experience right here in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Wilma’s is an Ann Arbor oasis for townies and visitors alike.

Originally Babo (our adventure in grocering ), then a moonlight as Fred's, and now... Wilma's! This space has so much personality, it took us a stretch to zero in on exactly who it wanted to be. And it SO wanted to be Wilma's – a breath of fresh coastal air (East and West!), brightening and uplifting bellies with super clean and nourishing food & drink. The most stylistically modern of our four restaurants, the Wilma's experience is just as much about vibe as it is about conscientious eating. Think botanical garden + all the good things your body wants + just enough cool + the sweetest staff. A little bohemian, a lot welcoming, Wilma’s is an Ann Arbor oasis for townies and visitors alike.

An experience you'll love... a place you'll remember.

The restaurant property known for housing the famous Lord Fox, and most recently Roger Monks, at 5400 Plymouth Road, will be restored and expanded by SavCo Hospitality (the restaurant group behind Sava’s, Aventura, and Wilma’s founded by Sava Farah in 2007) as a community hub and destination restaurant named Dixboro House, with a projected opening in early 2020.

The uniqueness of this project is what attracted us to it initially, and is also the reason it has taken us two years to receive approval for zoning and building. With permits finally in hand, construction started in May and we’ll be working hard on this project throughout the year.

The original barn structure will be preserved and highlighted as the main bar and casual dining room, with modernized kitchen and dining areas peripherally added. In addition to the new and dynamic interior spaces, the surrounding acreage will be rededicated to recreational interaction with Fleming Creek and its environs. Dixboro House will seat ~250 guests and welcome family style and large party dining both indoor, and out. The menu will offer farm-inspired comfort food, highlighting the seasonal wealth of Michigan agriculture. Sign up for our newsletter for updates and more information!
